What happens when you get stronger

For quite sometime, we've been advising people to do some form of strength training. In a nut shell, use weights or at least your bodyweight. Here's what happens 

After a period of time your body adapts to the training, this is called adaptation 

ADAPTATION 1

"An adaptation is a mutation, or genetic change, that helps an organism, such as a plant or animal, survive in its environment"

The key word here is environment. It's where you spend time doing something physically challenging.

ADAPTATION 2

A functional adaptation is any adaptation that helps an organism survive. For plants, this means anything that helps them carry out major life functions; like photosynthesis, water and nutrient storage and transport, and growth. Quite similar to the  spin off effects of staying fit and strong. 

Photosynthesis is the foundation of it really in our opinion. We are no different and when humans want to strengthen their bodies, they must spend time in a challenging but not impossible environment. It's just biology. We place demands on the bones, ligaments, tendons and muscles and they get stronger. We also learn new neuro connections and movements, thus strengthening our brains too. We also adapt to types of exercise and activities, like running, cycling, swimming etc... the more we do, the better we get. The common denominator is strength helps everything. 

 Apart from the physical benefits the psychological benefits go far beyond what people expect. Things like self esteem, wellness and self confidence are built too in the process of working on yourself strengthens the mind.

When you are stronger lot's of exercises get easier like the common bread and butter core exercise, The SIT UP. When you think about it, were are only using gravity and our bodies. So if we work on strength, these exercises get easier to do so we can then maintain a strong body.  Eventually it becomes routine. 

In the beginning it’s a mess, you maybe not sure where to “feel it” you may not even understand this small blog. Exercise increase body awareness, the same way an athlete knows how to perform their sport because they train it frequently.  Staying strong isn’t a fad, it’s a community of people that get it.  

When your self esteem goes up or improves then your life outside of the gym improves as you carry yourself with more self confidence. (See the doorway test from psychology)  

Make some time for you, humans need that.  

Recover from an injury, strengthen your mind after a breakup, boost self confidence, learn new skills, develop yourself, invest in the only vehicle you have for life. Your body.  

You wont regret getting stronger, no one does.
